i know the vape chart says i should be running around 7 watts/3.3 volts with a 1.6 ohm coil and my friends who have been vaping for a while say i should be around that too, but i run around 13 and dig the results except for the fact that i burn through liquid really fast...thoughts?

The chart is the 'yahoo answers' of vaping. If you know absolutely little and don't much care to, the chart can be useful. The answer is whatever you want. As long as your battery can keep up with the amp draw, go as high as you like. I'm currently around 18 watts and see no reason to change.

It depends on the juice and how fast your atomizer can replenish the wick. If you can vape at 13 watts continuously without getting burnt taste, then your hardware is up to it. I've vaped my Aspire Nautilus at 10 watts with good results. Battery life is shorter the higher you go, though. I tend to stay around 6.8 watts (3.3v on 1.6 ohms).

I'm running my IGO-W at about 25 watts (0.54Ω, 6.85 amps with 1600mAh 30amp Efest batteries). Need really good wicking and airflow, though, or you're going to burn the crap out of your juice or your wick. My holes are drilled out to 3/32" right now and could go a little bigger.

Bear in mind that those 'safe vaping' charts were developed back when just about everyone was using cartomizers, with tiny coils, built with tiny wire, and crammed into a tight space. With the variety of devices available today, including various rebuildables, those charts are pretty obsolete.

My personal philosophy (and this is just how I see fit to operate) is that you don't buy a mod with features or capabilities that you don't intend to use . If the max you ever want to vape at is 70w, then don't buy a 200w mod with a ton of features. Instead, put that money into a more streamlined mod of higher quality that gives you only a little more than the power you need. If you need more, get something that can do more and save the other one for when you don't need as much.
