What voltage should you set your vape to?
So, if you are using a 0.5ohm coil on a battery that gives 4.2 volts, you use the following sum to work out how many amps the circuit is draining from the battery. I = 4.2/0.5 = 8.4A. This is useful for vapers to know, particularly if they are making their own coils.
How much power does a vape coil use?

What is wattage in vaping?
Wattage is the measure of the amount of power a vape uses or puts out. Adjusting the wattage will also adjust the voltage of a device. It’s simply a different way of measuring heating power in a vape pen.
What is variable voltage vape pen?
A variable voltage vape pen allows you to select the voltage at which your battery operates, no matter how much power remains in it. This means a consistent power input and more control over the temperature, which means more control over the vape’s flavor and experience.
How long do vape pens last?
Lithium-ion batteries are the most common power source for vape pens, which have a life expectancy of 250-300 charges, or about three years of average use. O.pen, however, offers a Friend for Life lifetime warranty.
How long does it take for a vape pen to charge?
This depends on the size and age of your device. A small vape pen can charge in as little as 30 minutes, while larger or older devices can take several hours. The O.pen 2.0 Variable Voltage battery has a unique Rapid Charge feature.
Why is lower voltage better?
A lower voltage setting allows more subtle flavors to come through since some delicate terpenes may not be discernible with higher heat. Lower voltage also offers softer effects since it may take more hits on a low heat setting to achieve the desired level of THC or other cannabinoids.
Taste Comes Into Factor When Selecting The Right Voltage or Wattage For Your Electronic Cigarette Pen!
That’s right, the difference in voltage or wattage can change the taste of the E-juice you are vaping. If you use too high of a voltage or wattage, you can get a burnt taste from the E-juice.

For pre-filled oil cartridges, set your pen to 3.3V
Prefilled 510 thread cartridges require lower temperatures because the material is thinner and easier to heat. We recommend starting at the lowest voltage, 3.3V, and moving up to 3.8V if it’s not giving you enough of a hit. Some oils have a thicker consistency, so just turn the dial incrementally until you get the desired hit.
For dabs (wax), set your pen between 4.0V-4.3V
Wax is typically thick, so it will take more heat to get it going. Once you load the dab in your atomizer or attachment , set the voltage at 4.0V. Take a hit and expect a big cloud with crystal clear terpene flavors.
Use the included USB Smart Charger
Other USB chargers can easily overcharge your battery, weakening the cells inside over time. This is because other chargers continue to charge the battery, even when the charge is full. If you charge your pen overnight like most, you can easily degrade your battery in just a few months.
What is the wattage of a box mod?
The wattage of a box mod, in layman’s terms, is essentially the amount of power you send from the mod’s battery to the atomizer (AKA your vape tank). Higher wattages equal more power, and this, in turn, creates a hotter, more intense hit. And more vapor. If you want those BIG clouds, you gotta run your vape mod at higher wattages.
What is sub ohm tank?
Sub-Ohm tanks are designed to produce more clouds. They do this by having a lower resistance (0.2ohms, for instance), and this allows for less electrical resistance which in turn allows for more signal to flow to the atomizer.
What are the benefits of temperature control?
Benefits of Temperature Control Vaping 1 Better Flavor Control: Certain E Juices perform better at different temperatures. For instance: having a lower temperature might bring out the sweetness more. Or, going higher could bring out richer tones. 2 Fewer Dry Hits: Because the maximum temperature is locked, you won’t get anywhere near as many dry hits – the atomizer just can’t get enough power to do it. 3 Increased Coil Life Span: With the temperature locked, you’re not maxing out the coil every time you vape, which means the coil head will last longer. 4 You Use Less Vape Juice: Again, with the temperature locked in, you can find a sweet spot where you get great flavor at lower temperatures (and, therefore, power). Less power means less E Juice burned.

Did you happening to check the starting voltage of those batteries before charging? When Li batteries are stored when over-depleted (below 2.5v), they are often damaged. Probably not the case, but you never know.

maybe the Nitecore i2 isn't really a good charger for this application. Although, I thought I'd read in many many places that people recommend this charger for an inexpensive reliable charger.

Pretty sure there is no switch on my charger. When I pulled one off and tested it after the three amber lights were all lit up I was surprised not to find 4.2v, maybe the Nitecore i2 isn't really a good charger for this application.
