How often do you clean your tanks if you are keeping the same flavor? Also do you use soap on your glass tanks or something else?

Paradicio Super Member Verified Member ECF Veteran

I rinse out and re-wick my Lemos every 2 tanks. I use soap when I first purchase any piece of gear I will be putting juice in (drippers, tanks, etc....) to remove any residual machine oil. After that I just rinse with water.

Bookworm Vaping Master Verified Member ECF Veteran

I'm using glass carto tanks. I wash with a mild dish soap when new. I mostly keep them to the same flavor, and just give it a rinse whenever I have to change cartos. About once a week probably. But the drip tips get washed daily.

wheelie Ultra Member Verified Member ECF Veteran

Pretty much daily. Rinse out tank with warm water, dry-burn, re-wick, change out rebuilt Kanger duel coils in wife's. Sometimes I will run a third tank of juice through then change out. I like every vape to be as good as the first few vapes. CHEERS!

kaahn Super Member ECF Veteran

Seems to me the juice really starts tasting awesome after the second tank so I tend to run mine for at least 30ml of juice before I rewick and clean give or take several ml's. If I'm using the same juice I do a quick clean and burn but if I'm changing flavors I do a more thorough cleaning.

RavenZ Super Member

I use the DONNER sub ohm tank. I will rinse with water if I change strong flavors or flavors that don't taste well if a little juice is left in the tank. I use rubbing alcohol in my glass tank if I have really strong flavors then rinse with water. Drip tips get cleaned every day.

Rizzyking Ultra Member Verified Member ECF Veteran

I clean mine out after 50ml's of liquid rinse under the hot tap, rewick and fill. Change coils every two to three months.

Samiracle Full Member

I've been running at about 12W off on iStick and seem to be averaging about 4-5mL of juice per day.

Here's a rather long video, but it has a lot of good info. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IsxOe-i0cXM If you click on "Show More" there are links to other info, including cleaning. It's pretty extreme cleaning in my opinion, but It'll do. I usually just clean anything with warm water and qtips or paper towels, but that's just me.

I have a few nautilus and minis... generally when its time to change a coil I disasemble the tank as well and drop it in vodka with the dirty coil.

MikeyDrum Full Member

I've been changing my coil after about 1.5 weeks. I disassemble the mini, wash it out with warm water, dry with paper towels and q-tips and allow to totally air dry. I throw in a new coil, and it's good to go for me.

toastito9185 Full Member

this is great info, ive been using a Mini for a few weeks, and when its time to refill, i usually just tkae everything apart, rinse it under hot water, and wipe the coil down with a paper towel. let it all dry, fill it up and go.

Onelist140 Full Member

I don't go crazy with the cleaning. When it's time to change the coil, I take it all apart (in this case the Aspire Nautilus) and rinse everything but the base under hot water, The base I wipe out with q-tip or a twisted paper towel to get in the tight places.

U maybe getting liquid in your mouth, and U would know that nasty taste right away..its not uncommon with bottom filler type clesaromizers when they liquid gets too low, same with the condesation..but I'm not familiar with that Halon which I think is a top filler carto...maybe try keeping the juice level higher or the holes in the carto are too many or too big (defective carto?)...sorry i couldn't help more...

RoseB Ultra Member ECF Veteran

You might be having flooding issues. Condensation builds up in drip tips, and can add to the fluid in mouth issue. I like to rinse my drip tips and dry them out a couple times a day. If your tank is flooding: unscrew it, grab a paper towel, hold it over the threads...and blow! When the gurgling is gone it should be good to go

MrSelf Destruct Super Member Verified Member ECF Veteran

I've never had condensation in the actual tank itself. I get condensation in my vivi novas (easy to tell because they have clear drip tips. Doesn't taste like juice. Haven't noticed any condensation in any other drip tips (because they are opaque) but I'm assuming it's happening.

szot Ultra Member ECF Veteran

Here is another tip, take off the top mouth piece and look for any condensation of juice on top of wick assembly and sides that sticks up near the air hole, any of these droplets can affect vaping quality, dab them off along whole area with a tissue periodically and also wipe out your mouthpiece inside.

Gaspar74 Senior Member ECF Veteran

I get condensation in my tip but considering we're producing vapor it's to be expected.

BlueMoods Ultra Member Verified Member ECF Veteran

Does the tank stay cloudy, even when you wash it? If so, it's the juice and, that juice should be in a glass or metal tank. Some juices are what we call tank crackers.

sinhumo New Member

Thank you for the tips. As a new user, I still have a million of questions and doubts. I was having problems with gurgling and condensation, and followed your tips and it worked!!

LawrencevilleGA. With most tanks, it's better to refill when you get just below half-full; otherwise, many tanks leak, gurgle, and if there isn't much juice in the tank to keep the wick well-saturated, it can burn the juice, and that tastes HORRIBLE.

Alright, so I started vaping April 29th. The evod bcc and some blank boge cartos were the first devices I bought that go on the batteries I bought (ego twist).

AngelsBreath Ultra Member ECF Veteran

Well, with my protank, I always rinse them off and let them soak in very hot water for about an hour then I put them on a paper towel to air dry overnight. I do this pretty much after every tank so I don't get that burning taste. They will eventually die, the coils will just give out.

AngelsBreath Ultra Member ECF Veteran

Oh and I forgot, the protanks and the evod wicks are interchangeable the only difference is the post...that's it. So if you rebuild then you are in essence rebuilding for both.

AngelsBreath Ultra Member ECF Veteran

Protank should only be in 3 pieces, the tank, the bottom and the coil. Always take your coils off of the bottom part and rinse everything and let the wick part soak in hot water, rinse it really well. There are lots of people on here who use vodka to soak their wicks in then they let them air dry.

AngelsBreath Ultra Member ECF Veteran

Your atomizer heads are what you soak in hot water or vodka. Let them soak for a while and then lay them on paper towels to dry overnight.

If you're like me, you rotate all sorts of flavors. I am just wondering how long you have left your juice in a tank and if you had any negative side effects from leaving it too long. Or does it just continue to steep and get yummier?

I rotate through about four to five juices and get lazy and just keep adding to my tanks.

I have a Kabuki that has had the same juice and coil in it for a month and tastes great. If I don't touch it for another month I will likely dump/clean it out and toss the coil. I find a month in a tank is safe for most juices, prebuilt coils, RBA tanks, etc.

SupplyDaddy I'm considered a Mad Scientist in some circles! Verified Member ECF Veteran

I have 8 tanks that get used daily. Some more than the others, but most, not all, get at least topped off every day. 2 I know do not get topped off and may sit for a few days and just steep like my bottles do, only faster. They normally taste better before topping off.

I Usually vape 2-3 smoky flavours and change them when i get used to a spcific e-juice taste.
