I would like to know how long does it take before you need to rewick your RBA. Seems like I will need to do it after 2 tanks of juice but sometimes for certain juices after only 1 tank. Ater this point, the wick deteriorates fast and will have a burnt taste with increasing frequency of burnt hits.

How long do these tanks last you? I ran the subtank before i got the TFV4 and i would only only to rewick every other week I was using a 22g 7wrap just about .45ohms and would fire it around 50W just about what i do with my current tank. I go through roughly 2-3 tanks a day, now that i have switched to 6mg nic I have only go through 1-2 now.

Every 2 Tanks seems way to short to have to Re-Wick your Subtank RBA section at the Ohms/Watts you are using.

Well... then I'm Not Sure why you are getting such a short amount of e-liquid before you have to Re-Wick?

Does seem that dessert flavors gunk up the coil faster than fruits. Also, spices simply can't handle higher wattage. I also chain vape and find that long sessions have a tendency to gunk up my coils much faster. I usually get about 8/9 tanks before I have to change my cotton, but had better luck with cotton bacon than with JOC.

Well for me.. using NET juices at less than 15 watts...... it depends on the wick material. For cotton/rayon I get 4-10ml of juice, for Stainless and Silica, I can use the same coil and wick until I get bored with the coil.

Gillistration Senior Member ECF Veteran

I have had my Subox mini for a couple of months no. Since The occ vehicle coils only last me 2-3 days, I started playing around with the RBA deck (with varying degrees of success). I've been using the wraps that come with the tank (which may be the problem) and I've only been able to wick it successfully once without it tasting burnt or cottony.

What Is a Vape Coil?

A vape coil is a combination of a metal wire and an absorbent wick that lives in a small metal chamber inside your vape tank or e-liquid cartridge.

Why Do Coils Need to be Replaced So Often?

Simply put, because vape coils are heated rapidly and then cooled down, sooner or later, the metal deteriorates. Also, given that vape coils are closely linked to the wick, the e-liquid eventually coats the coil wire in burnt vape juice.

How to Increase Coil Longevity?

When Do the Coils Need to be Replaced?

Conclusion

So really, how long do vape coils last? The basic rule of thumb is to replace them every one to two weeks or whenever the vapor tastes burnt, whichever comes first.

FAQs

This is largely a personal preference, but changing coils before switching e-liquids is generally considered ideal.

What Is a Vape Atomizer?

An atomizer is also often referred to as an atomizer coil or vape coil. This coil is made from a small piece of resistance wire, which (when powered by the vaporizer battery) heats up the wick that is coated in e-liquid, creating delicious, flavored vapor.

What Factors Determine How Long an Atomizer Coil Lasts?

An atomizer coil’s lifespan depends on a few different factors, with one of the most important simply being how often you vape. The more often you use the coil on a daily basis, the shorter you can expect its lifespan to be – makes sense, right? Other affecting factors include:

How Do I Clean My Vape Atomizer?

Regular cleaning is a good way to keep your atomizer in good condition, and is easy as giving it a 10-15-minute soak in hot soapy water. Allow it to dry overnight (shake out excess water), and you are good to go.

How Do You Know an Atomizer Coil Is Burning Out?

The first sign that your coil is headed towards burnout is a decrease in your vapor production. It is normal for vapor to slowly reduce over the life of the coil, so expect this with any atomizer. The next sign will probably be a poor flavor or a burned taste, as well as leaking or odd gurgling noises.

How Frequently Should I Replace My Vape Atomizer Coils?

Based on the varying factors involved in coil life, there is no perfect answer to this question. For heavy vapers, you can expect to replace your coil after 5 to 7 days; moderate vapers can estimate close to 2 weeks, and very light vapers (think a few hits per day) could have coils that last as long as three weeks.
