Leaking happens when e-juice escapes from your tank, usually through the airflow system. Depending on the reason behind it, leaking can range from a few drops of e-liquid, to having your tank emptying all of its contents all over your vape mod. It’s a common problem with even the most popular sub ohm tanks.

Why are my vape vape pods not working?

Overfilling the pod – This is a simple one, you might be putting too much e-liquid into your pod or cartridge. If you have an open pod system that you can refill with e-liquid and over fill your vape pod, the excess vape juice has to go somewhere. That is usually out of the airflow.

Why does my vape juice come out when I vape?

The charge in your battery affects the power output. As your battery charge starts to drop, you have to draw harder on your vape to get vapour from it. This means that you will be drawing too hard and pulling too much vape juice into the coil. As above, this will then escape from your pod or cartridge.

Why is my vape gurgling and spitting?

The characteristic gurgling sounds or e-juice leaking from the airflow holes are both signs that e-liquid has flooded into your atomizer coil without being vaporized. As well as the irritation of gurgling and leaking, this can also lead to spitback, and generally makes your vaping experience pretty unpleasant.

Why does my vape tank leak?

Most vape tanks leak because of worn silicone components or assembly issues such as crossed threads. You can check for all of those issues simultaneously simply by taking the tank apart and examining it closely. Pay attention in particular to the condition of the tank’s silicone gaskets. If you find a gasket that’s stretched or torn, remove and replace it. If you look inside your tank’s box, you should find a bag of replacement gaskets. Check to make sure that your tank’s glass enclosure isn’t cracked. If it is, you should also find a replacement enclosure in the tank’s box.

How high should a vape tank be before going on a drive?

If you’re about to go on a drive that will involve an altitude change of more than about 2,000 feet, it’s a good idea to make sure that your vape tank is at least half empty before starting your trip. As you ascend, the air in your tank will expand. If your tank is nearly full, the expanding air will push the e-liquid out through the tank’s intake vents. Leaking will be less likely if you give the air room for expansion.

Is vaping tank reliable?

A vape tank is always most reliable if there’s enough e-liquid in it to cover the atomizer coil’s wick holes. That’s especially true if you’re not going to use your device for several hours . When you store your device on its side, some of the coil’s wick holes will be exposed to air. Over time, the tank’s internal vacuum will break, and the tank will begin to leak. Keep your vaping device upright as much as possible.

i have been using my type b atty and tanks for a while now and could not be happier except for one thing. here lately it has just been randomly leaking after i leave it sit for a while. it leaks from the bottom of the atomizer all over my battery. could it be time for new tanks or is their something wrong with my atty?

kitsune

Usually it's time for a new cartridge. mine seem to leak a bit over time. I had taken to leaving my battery/tank with the cart side down at an angle.

sirvapesalot

i was also thinking the cartridges might be a little old or sumthin and maybe theyre not sealing up right. but im still fairly new to them so i still dont know exactly what it could be.

New to vaping. Got my first device last week. Went with the EGO ONE. 1100mah battery + 2.5 tank.

crispncrunchy Full Member

Welcome to ECF, I'm pretty new here as well, but I do have an Ego One (2200mAh with 2.5ml tank). I've had some minor leaking issues with mine, mainly when I chain vape and also like you when the tank is nearing empty but it doesn't make it unusable. I have only used the 0.5 ohm coils so far. I also keep it topped up for fear of getting a dry hit.

Does anyone know if the ELEAF MELO Atomizer would fit flush with the joyetech battery?

Hitmetwice Ultra Member ECF Veteran

Ah yeah I saw that. I now know I'm looking for a diameter of 19mm. Any other clearomizer suggestions besides the sub tank nano? Anything that doesn't leak and has a clear view of the liquid & easier to fill.

MsNikita Full Member

Sorry to join the conversation so late on. I actually have two EGO-ONE's, both 2200mAh versions and neither of them leak.

MsNikita Full Member

On mine, the coil seemed to just flow and flow and flow, loading up the air flow control portion of the tank. So, for some reason my tank was loosing its vacuum.

vibeone2002 New Member

I'm also new to vaping! In addition I got this eGo ONE just a few days ago with an exchange from another eGo ONE and with this second swap, I'm again experiencing leaking. I was advise to take slower draws and not to chain vape which I'm doing now. So, I'm not sure what to do at this point, but as y'all can see from the picture below, it's leaking.

Why does my vape tank leak?

Leaking happens when e-juice escapes from your tank, usually through the airflow system. Depending on the reason behind it, leaking can range from a few drops of e-liquid, to having your tank emptying all of its contents all over your vape mod. It’s a common problem with even the most popular sub ohm tanks.

How to remove e juice from a tank?

First make sure the threads are in sync and closed tightly, but not too tight. Find that sweet spot. If the threads are crossed, screw it back together carefully. Remove e-juice from chimney – All tanks have a central airflow tube that runs from the body of the tank up to the drip tip, known as the chimney.

Why do multi strand coils pop?

Multi-strand coils often pop and spit due to their design. Twisted coils in particular have a bad reputation for this, but Clapton coils may have the same issue. Their design makes it easier for e-liquid to pool on the coil, and so sometimes it’s hard to entirely avoid popping on these coil types.

What happens if you inhale too much liquid?

If you inhale too forcefully, you risk bringing too much e-liquid into the coil, which may lead to leakage. Watch out when filling – Never overfill your tank. Always leave a small air pocket at the top when filling. This empty space will help prevent any liquid from leaking out.

Why does my tank leak out of the airflow holes?

Put a lid on it – If you leave a tank without the top cap, it will leak out of the airflow holes. That’s due to the pressurized nature of tanks. Make sure that your tank is empty if you plan on leaving your top cap off for extended periods of time—anything longer than it takes to fill it.

What does it mean when a juice tank is not airtight?

Check for cracks – Check your tank for cracks or other damage. A thin crack in the glass or a piece of bent metal can mean the tank is no longer airtight, allowing the juice to leak out and into the air hole valve.

How to prevent juice from leaking?

Sometimes if you’re in a hurry, you may cross-thread the top cap or forget to screw it together tight enough. This can cause juice to leak out of the openings.

What happens if you overfill a vape tank?

If you overfill, the liquid will seep into other areas of the tank and seep out. You shouldn't fill your tank all the way up, either. Your vape needs that gap of air to create pressure in the tank, giving you a better vaping experience. Check out the manufacturer's recommendations for how much to fill the tank and stick to it.

Where is the liquid in a vape?

There is vape liquid in the chimney. The chimney of your e-cigarette is the hollow tube in the middle of your tank. If liquid gets into this area, it can cause some minor (but annoying) problems like spitting, popping, and leaking. The easiest way to prevent your eLiquid from getting into the chimney is to make sure you don't overfill the tank.

How to keep eliquid from getting into chimney?

The easiest way to prevent your eLiquid from getting into the chimney is to make sure you don't overfill the tank. You should also take care in how you fill the tank. Take your Max VG liquid and tilt the tank, squeezing the e-juice down the side then slowly tilting it back up.

What are vape o-rings made of?

Most vapes have o-rings made from a rubber material. The rubber can get brittle and dry with age. If you've had your vape for a while, it's worth checking on the quality of the o-rings if you are suddenly experiencing leaks. The o-rings should be firm but pliable.

How strong are e-cigarette tanks?

E-cigarette tanks are pretty strong, but they aren't invincible. They are mostly made of glass, which means there is always a chance they could get broken or cracked. Most vapers use their e-cigarettes all day long, meaning the device journeys from car to the office and back home again. They might get shoved in a pocket or tossed on a desk. So it's no wonder that damage happens to the tank occasionally. If you start to experience leaks, hold your vape up to a light and examine the tank closely. The light will make it easier to see hairline cracks or chips in the edges that could be causing the leaks. If you see any signs of damage, order a replacement tank right away (and consider investing in a carrying case for your vape!).

Why is VG liquid thicker than other liquids?

Because of the thicker consistency, they are less likely to leak than liquids made from other bases.

Why do I have to twist my e-cigarette?

That's because overtightening can cause damage to the o-rings, or rubber rings, that create the seal. If you damage those, it's very easy for liquid to come out. So give your e-cigarette a tight twist to ensure it's closed, but don't twist it as hard as you possibly can.

Why is my vape pod leaking?

There are several reasons why there might be a leak from your vape pod, why your e-liquid is escaping out of your cartridge; your battery charge could be low, you may have overfilled your pod, your coil might need changing or you might be using a vape pod that isn’t well made .

What does it mean when you keep your vape charge up?

If you keep the charge up, it means you don’t have to draw too much. This will stop your vape juice escaping out of your pod. Use the right e-cig power settings – If your vape pod has adjustable settings, make sure that you have the power set to the optimum range for your coil.

What is bypass mode on a vape?

Most vape pods use ‘bypass’ mode. This is the way the battery sends power to your coil. The charge in your battery affects the power output. As your battery charge starts to drop, you have to draw harder on your vape to get vapour from it.

Do vape coils need replacing?

Coil needs changing – All vape coils have a time limit, they eventually all need replacing. If you have a vape pod with a removable coil, it can leak if your atomizer head has reached the end of its natural life. Once it needs replacing, the wicking material in your coil loses some of its ability to absorb your juice.

Can you overfill a vape pod?

If you have an open pod system that you can refill with e-liquid and over fill your vape pod, the excess vape juice has to go somewhere. That is usually out of the airflow.

Can you change the power setting on a vape pod?

Not using the right power setting – Some vape pods allow you to change the power settings. These should be set to the optimum wattage for your coil resistance. If they aren’t and they are set too low, as with your battery being low, you can draw too hard.
