The advantages of a top coil clearomizer are that as the coil is placed at the top of the tank closer to the mouth piece, there is an increase in the temperature of the vapour being emitted by your e-cigarette, which many find to be a closer representation of the heat provided by the smoke from a traditional tobacco cigarette.
Bottom Coil
The advantages to a bottom coiled tank are that they avoid the wicking issues that come with a top coil system. As the coil is submerged into the e-liquid wicking issues that many top coil clearomizers suffer from are a thing of the past.

In the middle of the air flow is ideal as said above. You can adjust up or down, RDAs and coil builds are different just play with it, I've even moved left or right of the air flow.
Bottom Coil Clearomizer
With the bottom feed or bottom coil clearomizer, there is no separate mouthpiece – it is all one unit. If you look inside (from the mouthpiece inward) you can see a tunnel that goes clear through to the clearomizer at the bottom. By unscrewing the bottom, you not only fill it but you change out the atomizer head that way as well.
Top Coil Clearomizer
If you look closely at a top feeder or top coil clearomizer, you will see that the atomizer head is at the top. Then there are long wicks that soak up the juice and draw it up to the heating element. The heating element (at the top) heats up the wicks and “burns” up the juice. FYI, the wicks are replaceable on this unit as well.
Further Comparison
These are both approximately the same size. Many vapers prefer the bottom atomizer because they seem to burn a little cleaner – a little differently than the top coil clearomizer. They do, however, burn out a little faster. You may have to change out the atomizer every 2 to 3 weeks, depending on how frequently you vape.
