It is generally acceptable to use chargers of different amp ratings because it only affects how fast or slow the charging happens. A higher amp rating means you can reduce the amount of charging time it takes to get a full battery, which can be especially useful if you are worried that charging during the day will cut into your vape time.

While it's essential to match the voltage between the charger and the device, it doesn't matter if the power supply or charger can provide more current then the device requires. However, providing less current will prevent charging or slow it down.Sep 28, 2020

What happens if you don’t charge your vape battery?

Once the vape battery is discharged below approx 3 volts, they must be charged again. Discharging the battery below 3 volts could damage the battery and it’ll no longer be usable. On the flip-side, charging above 4.2 volts could also damage the battery.

How long does it take to charge a vape battery?

Charge your batteries for at minimum of 3 hours. This is the average amount of time it takes for most removable vape batteries to reach a full charge. Be aware, however, that charging times can vary quite a bit based on the brand, age, and capacity of your batteries.

How to choose a good vape Charger?

Several good chargers are available on the market, some single chargers, double chargers (2 batteries) and 4 x chargers. A good charger will charge each battery slot independently of the other and automatically detect the type of vape battery in the slot.

How many volts does a vape battery have?

Standard Battery Specifications Most vaping batteries have a charge voltage of 4.2, a nominal voltage of 3.7, and a voltage discharge cutoff between 2 and 3 volts. So what the heck does this mean, anyway?

What amp should I charge my 18650 battery at?

The 18650 is popular cylindrical lithium cell, with a capacity of 2500 mAh. The datasheet recommends a 1250 mA constant current charge, then 4.2 V constant voltage charge, and charge termination when the current drops to 50 mA.

Does AMP matter when charging a battery?

We recommend higher amperage to ensure cooler power supply and optimal charge time. If you get a charger with amperage less than your original power supply, you risk overheating your charger, burning it and in many case your device will stop functioning and/or charging.

Do amps affect charging?

Amperage is the strength of an electric current often used to measure charging. In fact, amperage is the difference between a lightning quick full charge and an all-day trickle. Amperage is the defining factor of how quickly your device will charge.

Is it better to charge at lower amp?

There is evidence that charging at lower than 32 amps is inefficient, and that the efficiency isn't much different between 32 amps and 80 amps.

Will too much amperage hurt a device?

As long as the correct voltage is used, a device will draw only the amperage it needs, meaning there will not be “too many amps”. If an incorrect voltage is used — say a higher voltage than the device is rated to accept — then yes, too many amps may be drawn and the device can be damaged.

Is higher or lower amps better?

Amps basically measure how effectively the motor cools itself, not how much power it has. With this in mind, more amps can be good because motors will run longer and won't heat up as fast. Remember heat is what kills a motor.

Can I use 5V 1A for 5V 2A?

Using the 5V 1A charger to operate a device that is normally charged with a 5V 2A charger is a bad idea. The smaller rated 1A charger is likely to overheat when used in this manner. In the worst case it could even catch fire so don't do this.

Can I use 2A charger for 1A?

The chargers that come with Android tablets are designed for greater amperage than similar devices for Android smartphones. For example, the charger for a tablet is designed for 2A, while the charger for a smartphone is only for 1A.

Is it OK to use higher amp adapter?

Yes, sure. If the connector is the same and the voltage is 12V. The ampere value of the new power adapter should be 2A or greater.

How many amps should I charge at?

Most battery manufacturers recommend sizing the charger at about 25% of the battery capacity (ah = amp hour capacity). Thus, a 100 ah battery would take about a 25 amp charger (or less). Larger chargers may be used to decrease charge time, but may decrease battery life.

Why do amps matter?

Higher Amps Increase the Voltage Drop All electrical cables provide some resistance to the circuit flow, but it is important to take whatever steps you can to decrease that resistance when you're designing your electrical system.

Can I use a 5V 3A charger with a 5V 2A device?

No,It doesn't affect the battery or phone. you can use 3A charger instead of 2A if that's what you've got. smartphones takes only the power it needs or handles upto. so you wont see any difference between 3A charger and 2A charger if your phone can support upto 5V 2A charging.

There are many factors determining the qualities of the vapor, but IMO the one that best answers the OP is the coil area-weighted energy density, expressed in units of energy (W) per area (mm²).

Now, if they were water hoses they would both fill a bucket at the same rate...but if someone were to spray you with both of those different hoses individually do you think you would be able to tell them apart?

Bunnykiller ECF Guru Verified Member ECF Veteran

yes it matters.... consider you have 2 batteries both with the same voltage, but with different amp ratings. Lets say one was a 1 A rating and a second has a 30A rating.

dr g Moved On ECF Veteran

In the OP example, assuming both coils are made from the same wire, the 3Ω coil will have a much larger surface than the 0.25Ω, but only the same total energy delivered from the battery. The larger coil will have a much lower energy density, thus perform weaker than the subohm coil.

beckdg ECF Guru Verified Member ECF Veteran

Since they both result in the same amount of power going to the coil, just being achieved in different ways, the only difference is the amperage being pulled from your battery in either case.

ok so now we've got a divergent opinion on the matter. This is what seems to always occur, leaving me without a unanimous decision on the subject to put my curiosity as well as my insecurity on the validity of my percipiency of the subject, to rest

It's not really a divergent opinion. You may be under the mistaken impression that output amps on a regulated circuit are the same as input amps. For example in your original post, your 13v unit can only be achieved with the same battery as the 4v example via a boost circuit.

What is a vaporizer battery?

A vaporizer battery is nothing special. It’s nearly identical to the battery you keep in your pocket year-round, inches away from your genitals. I’m talking about the lithium ion in your cellphone. The same type of battery you’ll find in your laptop. And your tablet.

What is a LiPo battery?

Then there’s the LiPo (Lithium Polymer), which can be found in many DNA devices (like the VaporShark or Lavabox). These battery packs stack multiple lithium ion cells in a protective polymer casing. They can also be found in cordless phones, RC cars, and power tools.

Can a series circuit be completed if one battery is missing?
