Just getting into coil building. I have a sentinel mod with a nimbus. I bought some 30 ga kanthal today and I'm using cotton wicking. I built a dual coil setup with 9 wraps, it read at .9 ohms. When I use it, it fires and vapes decently but I was just wondering why my coils aren't glowing red.

When fired dry (Which you should not do with cotton) your coil should glow, but they should not glow when wet. If they do.... You'll have an extremely bad vape

Ah okay so I guess I'm good then. The vape is very clean, no burnt taste at all. This is my first rebuildable and I just remember seeing the coils that came in it glowing red even when I did have juice on it so thought I was doing something wrong. Thnx guys!

As others have stated, it will only glow red when the wick is taken out and you dry burn the coils. With wick the coils are transferring heat and spreading the heat into the material so you will not see a glowing red.
