I got myself an Aegis Solo, and I absolutely love it. I am very new to vaping, only been vaping for a couple of months, and I have some questions. I tried to look for them but due to my lack of knowledge the answers didn't help a lot.

Yes mesh coils typically consume more eliquid and require more power then regular coils.

The issue here is that 18650s (the batteries we usually use for vaping) aren't like AAs where they're all pretty much interchangeable. The wattage you can use (safely!) depends on the particular battery you're using as well as the mod you have. 18650s have two key characteristics:
Why does my vape spit back?
Other possible reasons for spit back may include the following: using high PG e-juice in conjunction with a sub ohm coil, chain vaping from a tank which gets fairly hot as the heat thins your ejuice, a coil which is wicking the cotton too quickly.
Why is my e juice not turning into vapor?
The e-juice in that instance is too thick for your low wattage device and coil, therefore the e-juice doesn't heat sufficiently to turn into vapor. The more common reason is that you've flooded the coil when priming, excess juice in the coil which can't vaporize quickly enough results in gurgling and/or spit back.
