Is the geekvape aegis solo battery door hard to screw on?
I’ve been using my GeekVape Aegis Solo for about 2 years, no problems. But suddenly the screw-on battery door became very difficult to screw on properly when there’s a battery inside the mod.
Why won't my battery door pop out?
Whatever you do - do not force battery door with battery inside. As for battery door popping out - use a piece of paper on the thread if it could not hold. There should be little pressure for the battery to be in contact with poles, otherwise the problem is in dirty contacts, broken spring at the positive contact inside the mod, etc.
Why did my geekvape mod fail?
Unfortunately this kind of failure will appear most likely over your 90 day warranty period that Geekvape provides, since with use the thread in the mod will get weaker and weaker, and start leaving little pieces of metal. In my opinion this is unacceptable since cheaper brands with threading battery containers don't suffer from this design flaw.

The battery door isn't prone to failure. It's prone to user error. I bought the Solo first and managed to almost destroy the threads by cross threading in the first weeks.

I’ve had this wonderful GeekVape Aegis Solo for just over 3 months now. I’ve been very happy with it but the screw-in battery cover is not working correctly now. It does not want to screw in and is prone to popping off. I’m not able to purchase another new mod right now.

It might not help now, but a good practice when screwing a cap in is to apply gentle pressure and turn it counter-clockwise, until you feel the cap drop slightly. That gets the threads in the right position to actually start turning it clockwise, avoids cross-threading.

If the threads are messed up it could be either the male threads on the cap or the female threads on the mod. If it's just the cap then a new cap might be the answer. But it could be the mod threads, or both. In that case there probably isn't a good answer.

An ode to TC vaping
More than 5500 puffs and 120ml later the cotton still looks fine and it never tasted burnt. After more than a year of TC vaping I'm still impressed how good TC mode performs and how much longer the coil and cotton will last than in power mode. In power mode I could barely reach 1500 puffs before having to rewick.
