There is no recommended wattage, just the one that works for you. Experience and experimentation is the way to find this. I'm assuming you are using a regulated device, in which case resistance is not important. Try using 34G or 36G for the wrap, and 26G for the core wire to reduce the overall mass of the coil.

What wattage is best for vaping?

The best wattage for vaping depends on two things: Your own personal tastes (do you want a hot or warm vape?) However, if you go too high for the coil you’re using, it will burn out rapidly and start tasting like ass – the cotton just burns up which is why you get a burnt taste from your vape. Start Low.

Do sub ohm vape tanks need more than 80W?

Most Modern Sub Ohm Tanks Will Not Require More Than 80W – Even The High-Power Ones. All vape tanks have a performance curve, an area where they’ll perform best. Most modern sub-ohm tanks are rated for high wattage performance, however, I find it is best for the longevity of the coils to stick well below the advertised maximum output.

Why do some vape coils have to be higher than others?

Or, if you’re vaping a tobacco/coffee E Juice, you could have it higher to extract more notes. You do have to run certain types of coil to do temperature control properly, so the ONLY coils you ever use for temp control vaping are Titanium, Stainless Steel, and Nickel.

What happens if you put a coil on a 200 Watt Tank?

If you prime your coil and load the tank onto a mod and then crank it up to 200W, one thing will happen: you’ll burn the coil out instantly (and likely cough your guts up). Most of the time, regardless of what tank you’re using, performance will likely be best in around 80-100W (tops).

What wattage should I vape at 0.2 ohm with mesh coil?

0.2 ohm coils - 40 watts to 100 watts.

What wattage should I vape a .2 coil?

For 2-ohm coils, the ideal voltage falls between the ballpark of 3.3 to 4.0 volts. Higher ohm (aka higher resistance) coils allow for a higher voltage. They also tend to produce less vapour and at a cooler temperature.

How many watts do I need for a .23 ohm coil?

Wattage range 20-45W.

How many watts is a .25 ohm coil?

45-57W25 - 0.25Ω Ohm (45-57W) new.

What's the difference between 0.2 and 0.4 ohm coil?

The lower resistance 0.2 ohm coils allow higher wattage to be used. This said, in this case, the 0.4 ohm coils give much better flavour with the Cleito tank than the 0.2 ohm coils.

What wattage gives the best flavor?

The sweet spot for getting a balance of vapour and flavour is around 0.3ohms. Depending on your coil choice you'll want to up the wattage from anywhere between 50 and 100 watts. Clapton and Alien coils usually take a bit more power to ramp up so you'll want to boost the wattage if you're using either of these options.

What is the best ohms for vaping?

The standard or regular level of ohm when it comes to vaping and your clearomizer is between 2.4 and 2.8. This is by far the most common ohm range chosen by those looking for replacement coils, with the most commonly chosen being 2.5. This standard level tends to offer the most consistent level for your vape.

What wattage should I vape at 0.4 ohm?

between 23-28 wattsThe 0.4ohm coil option performs at its best when used in higher wattage modes between 23-28 watts. The 1.2ohm coil option is best suited for use with either a classic or nicotine salt e-liquid, while the 0.4ohm coil performs best when vaped with a higher VG sub ohm e-juice.

How do I know what wattage to vape?

A higher wattage equals more power provided to the coil. As the power is increased, the coil produces warmer, larger clouds of vapour from your vape – ideal for creating tricks, such as smoke rings. On the other hand, for cooler vapour clouds, simply turn the wattage right down.

How many watts do I need for a .3 ohm coil?

30-60WThe EF 0.3ohm Coil is rated at 30-60W, allowing a great vaping experience with thicker vapor clouds.

What wattage should I vape at 0.3 ohm?

For instance, a 0.3 Ω Furytank coil runs best at 30 watts, but a 0.4 Ω triton coil can handle 50w. (This could be for a number of reasons – the amount of wraps on the coil, spacing between wraps and the specific alloy used e.t.c.)

Does higher ohm mean less wattage?

For example, if you have a 1.8ohm coil running on 3.7 volts you'll get an output of around 7.3 watts. If you change the coil to a higher resistance of 2.8ohms you will notice a considerable decrease in flavour, vapour production and heat. That's because the wattage is lower (around 4.4 watts).

What is the wattage of a box mod?

The wattage of a box mod, in layman’s terms, is essentially the amount of power you send from the mod’s battery to the atomizer (AKA your vape tank). Higher wattages equal more power, and this, in turn, creates a hotter, more intense hit. And more vapor. If you want those BIG clouds, you gotta run your vape mod at higher wattages.

What is sub ohm tank?

Sub-Ohm tanks are designed to produce more clouds. They do this by having a lower resistance (0.2ohms, for instance), and this allows for less electrical resistance which in turn allows for more signal to flow to the atomizer.

Does a coil last longer with a temperature locked coil?

Increased Coil Life Span: With the temperature locked, you’re not maxing out the coil every time you vape, which means the coil head will last longer. You Use Less Vape Juice: Again, with the temperature locked in, you can find a sweet spot where you get great flavor at lower temperatures (and, therefore, power).

Do vape mods have a user interface?

Most modern vape mods run on a vape chip and software, just like a smartphone. Vape mods also have a user interface, buttons, and a display . In fact, they’re probably closer to a mobile phone than a cigarette in this respect. Please though, DO NOT be put off by ALL the settings and bells and whistles inside your box mod.

This might seem like an obtuse answer, but the right wattage is what your mouth hole tells you is right.

There is no wattage range for any self built coil but starting somewhere low and working your way up will serve you, your build (which will not suddenly be assailed by overheating and burn, well your wick might have difficulties. What works is what works for you.

What kind of Clapton coil? Simple single core (single wire wrapped with a smaller Ga wire) Dual core "fused Clapton? It really helps if you give us all the details... RDA, RTA ... single coil or dual coils (I will assume single at that ohms) How may wraps? Sorry for the 20 questions...

vaper1960 Moved On ECF Veteran

It's not as simple as matching ohm to watts. My MTL "drop-in" coil at 0.6 oms works fine at 15 watts, my RTA coil at 0.8 ohms works at 20 watts (not exact...

This is my first steps with MTL, so this coil is for testing. I will buy fine hand made coils after the test is successful

"Fused Clapton" implies more than on core wire (nothing wrong with that... many people love those for DL) but you might like to keep it really simple for MTL... simple round wire (or single core Clapton) You might be surprised how well a simple 26 ga round wire works for that.
