I just put it (ego twist clone) on the charger, a few minutes later I caught the smell of over heatinging electronics. I pulled the charge cable right away, but the battery is still hot. The button seems to be stuck on., Right now, it's sitting on top a bin of kitty litter and it's still hot.

Maybe I should have stated a bit more clear Lol, obviously you don't want to put it in the trash RIGHT this minute. Give it some time to cool off and throw it away, get yourself an upgrade like a new VV VW mod that you put batteries into and you shouldn't have that problem again.

I saw a wisp of smoke come out from near the button, so I believe the circuit board in the ego failed in "on" state, the ego LED was on steady. At the time of my first post, the battery was just getting hotter and hotter, so I was looking for a place I could put it safely, in case it was going to explode.

I have 2 faulty Dead units I have been using on occasion to hold pieces I'm rebuilding. May have to re-think this and at minimum, pull the batteries out of the tubes and dispose.
