What are the parts of a vape tank?
Atomizer / Coil – the atomizer coil is the heart of the vape tank. The atomizer coil contains the heating coil and wick material, ideally organic Japanese cotton. The resistance level of the coil determines how much power is drawn from the battery and how much heat is generated.
What makes a good vape tank?
Vape tanks are responsible for creating great-tasting, and large amounts of vapor, which are the reasons vaping is becoming so popular. They do this through a combination of factors. What do vapers inhale?
Last year one “public health expert” in the USA complained that vapers were breathing in dangerous fumes from the battery. The important bits of the e-cigarette itself are inside the atomiser – everything that’s in contact with the liquid. Most atomiser tanks are made of stainless steel, glass or food-safe plastic, so there’s no danger of any harmful chemicals dissolving into the liquid. Wicks are made of unbleached cotton, which is another safe material. So everything the liquid is in contact with is perfectly safe; that leaves us with the liquid itself. When you fire up an e-cigarette the liquid gets turned into vapour, and that’s what people actually inhale. So, what’s it made of?
What is the last ingredient in vapes?
Finally, the last ingredient in a vape is flavourings. On its own, e-liquid doesn’t really taste of much. If it contains nicotine there’s a slight peppery taste, and both VG and PG are slightly sweet, but it isn’t really something most people want to vape. The answer is to use food-safe flavourings to create the huge range of liquids we enjoy.
What are the ingredients in e juice?
The two main ingredients in e-juice are vegetable glycerine (VG) and propylene glycol (PG). Glycerine is also a main ingredient in nitroglycerine, which is a notoriously unstable high explosive, and if you know anything about engines you might be wondering if that’s the same kind of glycol that gets used as antifreeze.

Can you inhale food flavourings?
The answer is to use food-safe flavourings to create the huge range of liquids we enjoy. Not all food flavourings can be used; some ingredients – diacetyl, for example – are safe to eat but not to inhale. A few flavours use an oil base, which isn’t great to inhale either.
Is nitroglycerine explosive?
Is your e-liquid going to poison you and then explode? No, it isn’t . Glycerine is used in nitroglycerine – and dynamite, gelignite and a few other explosives – but it’s not explosive itself. In fact it’s an extremely safe chemical, and it’s used in many everyday products.
Is antifreeze in vapes?
The media are always claiming that somebody has found those. Antifreeze? Yes, that’s apparently in vapes too, if you believe some of the junk you read. If you want to know what’s really in a vape, forget what you’ve seen in the newspapers – most of it’s junk.
Where is the pin on a vape?
At the very bottom of the coil is the pin that makes an electrical connection with a plate – usually made from copper – in the bottom hardware of your vape tank. Power travels from the battery in your vaping device to the atomizer coil through that bottom pin. You’ll also notice that the pin has openings for airflow.
What happens when you vape through the bottom of the coil?
What about those holes in the pin at the bottom of an atomizer coil? When you vape, the air pressure that you create by inhaling causes air to enter the tank through the intake vents at the bottom . The air enters through the holes in the atomizer coil’s bottom pin before traveling through the length of the coil assembly and out of the tank’s mouthpiece. As the air travels through the tank, vapor produced by the atomizer coil’s heating wire travels with it.
Why doesn't my vape wick flow?
The reason why the e-liquid in your tank doesn’t flow right through the coil’s wick openings and out the bottom of the tank is because the wick is stuffed so full of cotton that the tank reaches a sort of equilibrium once the wick is fully saturated with e-liquid. When you vape, the cotton replenishes itself through absorption.
How to remove the bottom pin of an atomizer?
The bottom pin of an atomizer coil is removable. You can pry it off with your fingernail. Under the pin, you’ll see the positive and negative leads of the coil’s heating wire, separated by a rubber insulating ring.
Why does my atomizer burn?
To generate vapor, of course, your atomizer coil needs e-liquid. The coil is full of cotton, and the cotton is saturated with e-liquid. When you press your device’s fire button, the heating wire begins to vaporize the e-liquid in the cotton. If you hold the fire button down so long that the cotton dries out, it may burn. Keep that in mind when you use your device, as burned cotton is one of the most common reasons why you might experience an undesirable flavor when vaping.
Do you need to replace a vape coil?
You already know, of course, that you need to replace the atomizer coil when its flavor quality starts to decline. When your vape starts to taste burned, though, what’s actually happening? Is there something you could do to make your coils last longer? Why do you choose the coils you do when you visit a vape shop like V2 Cigs? Is there some other coil that you might like better?
One cart to rule them all
As mentioned up top, all the carts you find on the recreational/legal market are going to be some variant of a CCELL or an imitation of one. For the most part, CCELL carts are reliable and of decent quality, but they have some setbacks. Most notably they get clogged up if they are not used correctly and can be hard to pull from sometimes.
Components
Base plug (?) – Its job is to isolate the negative and positive terminals on the base of your vape. The plastic bit is what stops the whole thing from shorting.
How it works
When you push the button on your battery, it sends power through the coil (3-8 watts, hopefully for your lungs), as the coil heats up, the oil near the ceramic heater is liquefied which drips onto the heater coil. As it hits the coil, it’s vaporized resulting in more oil seeping down to the coil.
In conclusion
So that’s how a vape cartridge works. It’s a little more complicated then a wax pen which is just a coil and oil, but the tradeoff is that it’s much easier to use. If you’re looking to try out concentrates, but don’t want to invest in much equipment, vape carts are a nice place to start.

Users can expose any one of the holes to better control the air intake. There are two coil types included in the kit. There is a 1.8ohm coil pre-installed into the tank but there is also a spare. The kit also includes a 510-threaded adapter to pair the tank with any 510-mod.

U maybe getting liquid in your mouth, and U would know that nasty taste right away..its not uncommon with bottom filler type clesaromizers when they liquid gets too low, same with the condesation..but I'm not familiar with that Halon which I think is a top filler carto...maybe try keeping the juice level higher or the holes in the carto are too many or too big (defective carto?)...sorry i couldn't help more...

You might be having flooding issues. Condensation builds up in drip tips, and can add to the fluid in mouth issue. I like to rinse my drip tips and dry them out a couple times a day. If your tank is flooding: unscrew it, grab a paper towel, hold it over the threads...and blow! When the gurgling is gone it should be good to go

I've never had condensation in the actual tank itself. I get condensation in my vivi novas (easy to tell because they have clear drip tips. Doesn't taste like juice. Haven't noticed any condensation in any other drip tips (because they are opaque) but I'm assuming it's happening.

Here is another tip, take off the top mouth piece and look for any condensation of juice on top of wick assembly and sides that sticks up near the air hole, any of these droplets can affect vaping quality, dab them off along whole area with a tissue periodically and also wipe out your mouthpiece inside.

I get condensation in my tip but considering we're producing vapor it's to be expected.

Does the tank stay cloudy, even when you wash it? If so, it's the juice and, that juice should be in a glass or metal tank. Some juices are what we call tank crackers.
