I had this problem with two aegis x mods before and I believe it can be moisture build up in the battery slots. Where it has the negative and positive indicators inside can be wet. I put a blow dryer towards the inside of my first one. And the second one I was fed up and decided to ignite a lighter under it and try to evaporate anything in there.
