Actually - I just made new coils for my dripper (the only thing I use) and it came out to .16Ω. At the moment, still at 140 watts, though. Click to expand...
Are Clapton coils good for vaping?
Most of the top brands are utilizing Clapton coils in their pre-built atomizers, as this seems to be the direction that coils are now heading. The major advantage of using Clapton coils is that they create larger surface area, which means more vapor
What wattage do you run on your Claptons?
I'm in the 60 range with .5 ohm claptons on my work mod. Switch to my TC when I get home and stay around 240c at .2ohms .8 to 1 ohm on mechs....... I usually run 50-60 watts on. 3ohm (dual clapton) and I pretty much keep to this on RDA and tank.
What is the difference between Clapton coils and regular coils?
Clapton wire increases the surface area of the coils as opposed to using regular coils. The larger surface area makes the e-juice vaporize faster once the fire button is pressed. This preserves the lifespan of the coil. Clapton coils last longer than traditional coils. Their longevity is a result of their large surface area.
How many watts do I need for a .15 ohm coil?
For the 0.15 ohm GT4 coils, used on Vaporesso's NRG tank, for example, the recommended wattage is 45 and 65W. 45 to 65W is still a fairly broad range, so it will be up to you to find what works best within these limits.
What wattage should I vape at 0.41 ohm?
between 23-28 wattsThe 0.4ohm coil option performs at its best when used in higher wattage modes between 23-28 watts. The 1.2ohm coil option is best suited for use with either a classic or nicotine salt e-liquid, while the 0.4ohm coil performs best when vaped with a higher VG sub ohm e-juice.
What wattage should I vape at 0.20 ohm?
0.3 ohms - 40 watts to 90 watts. 0.2 ohm coils - 40 watts to 100 watts.
What is the best wattage for a 0.16 ohm coil?
40 wattsThe 0.16ohm Mesh coils have a recommended wattage range of 25-50 watts, with the best wattage at 40 watts. This means these coils are designed for sub ohm / direct to lung (DTL) vaping. They produce bigger clouds and offer boosted flavours.
How many watts is a 0.25 ohm coil?

How many watts do I need for a .23 ohm coil?
Wattage range 20-45W.
What is a Clapton coil?
Clapton Coils are a small gauge wire wrapped around another larger gauge wire in a perpendicular way. One wire is coiled tightly over the other. You get your thicker coil result by wrapping a 24 or 26 gauge vape wire in a 30 or 32 gauge. Surface area shoots up (and so does flavour production).
What is the best wattage for a 0.17 ohm coil?
40-80 wattsEach coil is an RGC Conical Mesh coil and has a resistance of 0.17ohms. The best recommended wattage of 40-80 watts.
What wattage should I vape at ohm?
These devices burn at higher temperatures and are intended for use with high VG liquids, producing thicker clouds and releasing more flavour from the e-liquid. A typical wattage range for 0.8-ohm devices is 20 W - 35 W (or sometimes 40 watts - 50 watts).
What is the best wattage for a 0.2 ohm mesh coil?
60-85 wattsThe 0.2ohm conical mesh coils have a best recommended wattage setting of 60-85 watts. They are made of kanthal. In contrast, the 0.15ohm dual mesh coils have a best recommended wattage of 60-90 watts.
How do you calculate watts for vaping?
Really, the most useful formulas for vapers, are the three that calculate current (I = V ÷ R) power (P = V x I) and resistance (R = V ÷ I). These will allow you to figure out the current your coil will draw and the wattage that will result. As you increase resistance, current and power will drop off.
Can I vape a low wattage coil at a higher wattage?
E-liquid Use If your vape coil is being run at a higher wattage and producing more vapour, it needs to use more e-liquid to create that vapour. This is why vapers using sub-ohm vape coils at 40 or 50W or even higher can get through a 10ml bottle of e liquid or more in a day.

"Fused Clapton" implies more than on core wire (nothing wrong with that... many people love those for DL) but you might like to keep it really simple for MTL... simple round wire (or single core Clapton) You might be surprised how well a simple 26 ga round wire works for that.
What are Clapton Coils?
A Clapton coil is simply a small gauge wire wrapped around another larger gauge wire in a perpendicular way. It basically means a coiled wire; you have one wire coiled tightly over another. But of course, it had to be given a better name to make it sell.

So, Should You Buy A Pre-Built Coils Or Make Your Own Clapton Coils?
Now, this depends on an individual. If you’re a DIY enthusiast, you can opt to make your own Clapton coils. All you need is to buy twisted Clapton wire at an online store or your local vape shop and build your own.
How does Clapton coil work?
Clapton coils enhance the flavor of vapor liquids. Some designs also act as wicks hence storing the vape juices within the cavities thus dispersing the juice evenly and tasty hits as it saturates. The Alien Clapton is known to disperse juice around the wire when wet. Clapton coil add depth to your flavors. They allow you to taste more notes on your juice. A little trick is to adjust your temperatures bit by bit when you adjust flavors. The core heats much faster than the outer wire. This allows you to taste flavors emanating from both higher and lower power levels.
Why use a clapton coil?
Clapton wir e increases the surface area of the coils as opposed to using regular coils. The larger surface area makes the e-juice vaporize faster once the fire button is pressed. This preserves the lifespan of the coil. Clapton coils last longer than traditional coils. Their longevity is a result of their large surface area. Furthermore, it gives you a fresh taste with every puff. The higher surface area also decreases the potential of dry vapor hits. Clapton coil is generally better for vapor production.
Why use kanthal wire for Clapton coil?
Ordinarily, using more wire increases resistance. Its complexity makes Clapton coil different. The thicker, lower resistance wire at the core carries most of the current and keeps the resistance of the build low. The outer thinner wire takes lesser current. However, the wire still heats up quite quickly because it is in direct contact with the already-hot inner core. For this reason, people generally use higher gauge thinner kanthal for the outer coil.
Why use a fused Clapton coil?
Fused Clapton coils are a deviation on the original build and use a thinner gauged wire wrapped, or fused, onto two thicker gauged cores. The reason for this is so that you can get a better heat up time, and therefore quicker hits, without losing any of the flavour. Coming in a range of resistances, the fused Clapton is a must for anyone who wants a vape coil building challenge.
What is an alien clapton?
An Alien Clapton is a Clapton coil which has had its core taken out and replaced with a multi strand core. The Alien Clapton is slow to ramp up but rewards the user with a perfect sub ohm vaping coil, due to its larger surface area.
What is a staple coil?
Staple coils have a faster ramp up time than the fused Clapton and is made using up to ten flat ribbon wires with a thinner gauge wire wrapped around it. The staple coil creates small indents in the wire, giving the titular stapled effect and trapping bits of e juice in the process, ensuring maximum vape flavour efficiency.
What is the wattage of a box mod?
The wattage of a box mod, in layman’s terms, is essentially the amount of power you send from the mod’s battery to the atomizer (AKA your vape tank). Higher wattages equal more power, and this, in turn, creates a hotter, more intense hit. And more vapor. If you want those BIG clouds, you gotta run your vape mod at higher wattages.
Does a coil last longer with a temperature locked coil?
Increased Coil Life Span: With the temperature locked, you’re not maxing out the coil every time you vape, which means the coil head will last longer. You Use Less Vape Juice: Again, with the temperature locked in, you can find a sweet spot where you get great flavor at lower temperatures (and, therefore, power).
Do vape mods have a user interface?
Most modern vape mods run on a vape chip and software, just like a smartphone. Vape mods also have a user interface, buttons, and a display . In fact, they’re probably closer to a mobile phone than a cigarette in this respect. Please though, DO NOT be put off by ALL the settings and bells and whistles inside your box mod.
How to wrap a coil?
To wrap a coil, you’ll need either a drill bit, a screwdriver or (ideally!) a coil jig to wrap the wire around. The size of whatever you use dictates the inner coil diameter.
What type of wire is used for variable wattage?
Kanthal A1 and Nichrome N80 are the two types of wire used for Variable Wattage mode only. Stainless Steel (316) can be used in either Variable Wattage or Temperature Control (TC) mode.
Does regulated mod affect battery drain?
2) Alternatively, if you’re using a regulated mod the resistance of your coil doesn’t affect the drain on your battery. Instead, the wattage you choose to vape affects how much power you draw from your battery. Obviously the higher the wattage you vape at, the higher the draw on your battery will be.
